The Portrait Society of America in conjunction with UNF sponsored a two-day event held in UNF's Fine Art Center on November 12th & 13th 2009 that featured a demonstration by Jacksonville's world renowned portraitist Ann Manry Kenyon. The event was attended by more than eighty artist that traveled from throughout the Southeast. On the second day Ms. Kenyon along with Tallahassee painter-sculptor Edward Jonas and UNF professor of art Kyle Keith conducted a workshop. The first annual Kids Win Fishing Tournament was held September 19 2009 at Browns Creek Fish Camp on Heckscher Drive and was open to ages 4 through 16. Winners in the two age groups 4 through 10 and 11 through 16 received trophies, cash and prizes. It was a day of fun for everyone and a huge success with over 100 families entering the contest. Next years date is already set, September 18 2010.
